Trip to San Diego Zoo

We recently spent the night in Carlsbad with my mom and Dave and then set off to the zoo the next morning. Jax had a cold so he wasn't that much fun to be with, let me tell you...or if you'd rather, you could ask one of the hundreds of other zoo-goers that day that had to endure Jax's tantrum in front of the giraffe exhibit. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to give you a play-by-play of the whole sordid affair! Sheeesh!

Anyway, we wound up having a really great day. Pictures were difficult to take with Jax behaving so poorly but we managed to get a few. The animals were beautiful and so was the weather. Mom and I had a nice glass of wine with our lunch in the Treehouse, high above the rest of the zoo. We ate at Albert's - an open air, higher-end restaurant while listening to the waterfalls outside the window and feeling the refreshing coastal breezes blow thru our hair. Sounds nice, huh? Unfortunately, we also heard everyone elses kids screaming, complaining, laughing and squealing the whole time.
