2-year Anniversary of our Court Date...

What a special date, December 19th will always be for us.

Just a quick flashback to 2 years ago....sitting in a courtroom....nervous as ever....waiting for the judge to declare us Jaxon's parents.....AND THEN SHE DID! Hard part was over; fun part about to happen. In 2 days (Dec. 21), we would pick up Jaxon and take him away with us. Wow! So many memories and emotions.... I just can't believe how blessed we are.

Will take a nice, long stroll down memory lane on Friday, December 21st. THAT'S the big day - Jaxon's "Gotcha" Day....

Halloween Face Painting

We had a little Halloween party with our good friends, Niki, Jason and Joshua. Niki thought it would be fun to do some face painting on the boys, except that neither one of us knew what we were doing. We got thru it o.k. but the boys looked scary! Niki was much better at it than I and Joshua was a much more cooperative model - Jax did not like it! He made a pretty good Frankenstein, I thought! We had a blast, as usual and can't wait to do it again next year!

Happy Halloween!

Jax wanted to be a pirate this year so I started the hunt for the appropriate costume, early. I had seen the many pirate costumes that resembled "real" pirates and having my 3 year old dressed as a drunk, cross-dresser for Halloween wasn't my idea of a "pirate". However, I got lucky and found one that looked a bit more sane. It was way too big but we pulled it off and after getting the total cost together, Jax will wearing this one again next year, so sorry in advance for next year's boring Halloween pictures. Anyway, he LOVED it! It was great! He played the part beautifully, scowling at people and raising his sword when they would answer to the door. The kid definitely has a future in theatrics should he choose to pursue that avenue.... We went trick or treating to about 10 houses before he had a temper tantrum on someone's lawn (while all my friendly neighbors were watching, of course), which made my night because we got to finish up early! Ha ha ha! Mom's always win! It was the perfect pirate ending - drunk (on sugar) and passed out on the lawn, hat and sword thrown aside.

Pumpkin Patch 2007

Trying to get 3 kids to all look at the camera and smile at the same time, takes some doing....but not this time - it never got "done"! Try as we did, no dice. Anyway, we got some fun shots and really had a great day at the patch. We went on a few rides, bought a few pumpkins, played a few games and soaked up some autumn spirit. Afterwards, Shelly and I were ready for something cold and bubbly (not soda, thank you very much) so we went across the street for lunch and a beverage. The kids had a blast and it was a great ending to a fabulous weekend.

Happy Birthday, Jaxon!

We can't believe it but Jax turned 3 on October 12th. Where did the time go? It's frightening to me how quickly the days fly by; I do believe I'm starting to feel my "birthdays". We weren't going to have a party this year after last year's massive soiree, however Jaxon's Auntie Shelly was in town for the weekend and she wouldn't take no for an answer. So, we threw together a last minute get-together which consisted of pizza and cupcakes. The McLaughlin children stopped by and with cousins Riley and Colin by his side, Jaxon had a terrific 3rd birthday. We finished the weekend off with a trip to the pumpkin patch and lunch at the Claim Jumper. Low key, low maintenance and low fundage = a great time for mom and dad! I think Jax had more fun this year, too...
