Jax survived - so did his parents!

Well, Friday was a tough day but Jax did great. I was a nervous mommy but had my good friend, Lise K., with me so I never fell apart. She was keeping me giggling, smiling and prayed for me/Jax when the going got tough. I never could have gotten thru it without her!!! She's the best!!!
Jax still has all his parts (minus a flap of skin) so I guess things went fine with the surgery. Yesterday was a bit tough but today he's better. It's so hard to tell with him - he's so stoic! So, on to healing and each day will be a little easier for him and us. He has resorbable stitches "around the collar" and can't have a bath or swim for a few weeks but other than that, he should be just fine! Thanks everyone for your prayers, phone calls and support! It meant the world to me, just knowing how loved we are!!!

Jax's Surgery Tomorrow - PLEASE PRAY!!!

Jax has surgery at UCLA tomorrow at noon. Please keep him in prayer as he goes into surgery, comes out of surgery and recovers at home this weekend. He is being circumcised and having his urethra calibrated.....sounds like fun, huh? I'm sure all you guys are just signing up for this one, eh? Well, once all is said and done, Jax will be healthier and not have to face any problems later on from a narrow urethra and "opening".

Anyway, if you can, please keep him in your prayers and maybe one for mommy and daddy too. We're nervous! Thanks everyone and hugs your way!

More Tantrum Pics...

...this time, in the car! This was taken last Saturday. Our power had gone out (and stayed out for 7+ hours) so we drove over to the Towne Center to grab a bite. We chose to eat in the car with the air on since I'm a bonafide germaphobe and could never put my child in one of those fast-food high chairs over at Del Taco. Anyway, it didn't work out too well, eating in the car, hence the tantrum. But hey? We were cool AND clean!

Jax's Baby Brother......for now.......

This is Ronnie, a baby Cabbage Patch Kid (came to us already named) that Jax plays with...er, umm, MOMMY plays with to distract her sometimes jealous son. When he's up to something that's no good, I just grab old Ronnie here and lay on the love! Jax drops what he's doing to come between Ronnie and Mommy - the green-eyed monster is alive and well at our house! And, for those parents out there who are himming and hawing at my parenting techniques, I say to you....."Hey, I'm not above it - it works!" I guess I'll be sorry if/when we ever have another child, huh?????????

Jax and his Lego's

Jax had fun building his first Lego tower today - he really liked the "tower" part. For some reason, that's all he wanted to do. He just kept on adding to this thing until it was taller than he was (almost) and leaning.....pathetically! Poor guy about came unglued when I told him it was time to take it down and put it away. Tough tooties, I always say....

More kid pics...

Caleb was a saint! He pulled those kids all around the block, time and time again. He even supplied their wagon with chips, drinks and watermelon. It was a first class ride all the way!

The Proud and Patriotic Dad's

OK...so maybe they don't look that patriotic, but they sure were proud!

More parade...

Here is Malachi, Jax's buddy, and his daddy, Todd. All three Ketterer kids looked great out there! I'm sorry I don't have pics of Madison and Caleb.

The Bike Parade

We decorated Jax's "Lil Quad" for his bike parade debut. Thankfully, it's motorized so he can pretty much move along on his own. The problem is, he can't steer so poor Darren had to keep leaning over and straightening out the handlebars. They managed to make it down the street o.k. and Jax looked pretty cute out there on his "ride". We strung up a bunch of empty soda cans and tied them to the back so we could hear him comin' as he got closer to our house. This proved to be a pretty good idea because later in the day when the kids were riding the quad, the cans would keep us posted as to their whereabouts. When the noise got softer and softer, we knew they were getting farther and farther away and it was time to call them back towards home. This way, we parents didn't have to get up out of our seats as often; we got to spend more time concentrating on our margarita drinking!!! Talk about lazy parents, huh?

Our Big Block Party Pool

Jax and his pal Malachi really had fun splashing around in just a few inches of water and a couple of plastic cups. We had to refill the pool a few times because they really enjoyed pouring all the water out and splashing everyone who go too near.

4th of July Block Party

Jax enjoyed his first 4th of July block party. While he was with us in spirit for the last two "4th" celebrations, it was sooooo much better having him with us in the flesh! He had a ball! He was a non-stop toddler - just go, go, go! He ate nothing but junk all day, drank more pool water than good water, spent most of the day wet and greased up with sunscreen and even managed to stay awake for the fireworks (barely!). We had our good friends over and the kids kept each other company while we parents kept the blender full of margaritas company! The food, drink and water balloons were flyin' (along with some of the adults.....) and once again, everyone had a blast. I'm already thinking of fun things for next year's bash. Hope everyone else had a safe and sane holiday. Gotta love the U.S.A.!!!!
